The prepandemic trip was a no-fog sunny week and a half. I could walk up and down as many hills as I wanted. I knew I wanted to walk. I just made a point to stay hydrated.I visited coffee shops. I sat and took in views from the top of hills. There was a tennis court in the sky, it feels like.
My trip to Spain ignited some unprompted fears. Tiny logistical hurdles got in the way of just catching museum hours at the right time. I made sure not to stay at any one place in Europe too long, though. It was foggy at times, with a bit of anxiety still from trying to detach myself from daily pressing routines. I was focused on leaving pending tasks to stay pending until I got back to the states.
